What is Meditation?

Meditation is a mental practice that uses visualization to disengage from thoughts and external stimulation in order to access the inner state of our being.  From a Western intellectual, physiological or transformational perspective, you can use meditation to reduce stress, improve your health, increase mental focus, help you be more present and handle the emotional ups and downs of life in greater ease.

 

However the practice of Meditation found at the origins of most religions and indigenous cultures was originally aimed at understanding our Spiritual nature.  From this perspective, meditation is a way to disengage from the ego to connect with the source of All Things.  While the practice of meditation can be considered "spiritual" because of its purpose, it is NOT a philosophy, religion or dogma.  It is simply a practice and can be used by anyone for any purpose. 

 

Whether you start a meditation practice to let go of stress, improve your health, impress your new girlfriend or get closer to the mystery of who you really are as Spirit, know that the dedication to a daily practice will pay off in ways that you simply cannot imagine.  UNWIND Meditation is one method for you to use on your own journey into meditation and awareness.  I am deeply honored to share this practice with you and be a guide for a short while on your journey.   -J

Advanced Meditation Practice

The Advanced Meditation Practice group is an ongoing weekly class for those who want to further their mastery of the meditation practice learned in the Introduction to Meditation Course.  This class will review the complete meditation process each week and explore new ways to apply the techniques, integrating current events and life situations from the live participants. 

 

What practical things can you get out of this course?

  • A review of the basic meditation practice to develop consistency.
  • A deeper understanding of the tools and detailed review of each step of the process to insure the the meditation tools are being done correctly and for highest benefit.
  • Help in removing resistance and effort from your practice.
  • Further mastery of inner stillness and how to deal with distractions, racing thoughts and problem solving during mediation.
  • Learn to go beyond the basic meditation to create mockups (visualizations) for relationships, work and to understand and heal life's difficult situations.

Introduction to Meditation Course

The Introduction to Meditation Course is a 2-part course to assist you in developing a self-guided, meditation practice.  This style of meditation is suited perfectly for modern intellectuals with busy schedules and busy minds, but is also the beginning of a journey of profound intuitive awareness.  Serene audio and guided meditation recordings are an effective way to relax the mind.  This meditation practice can help you relax too but it also develops your intuitive awareness, mental accuity, and personal effectiveness.

New! The Creative Revolution Lecture Series

We are in the midst of a creative revolution!  Forward-thinkers are now developing business solutions that serve public needs without big corporate structure and the resources, expense, redundancy, corruption and environmental degredation that often comes with it.  In other words, we are starting to create in ease, simplicity, collaboration and sustainability on on a VERY, big scale. 

 

This seemingly innocuous change in how we "get things done", is the beginning of a whole new world order in which there are no sides, no opposition, no control; just happy, coexistence.  It may seem like a long journey to there, but every journey starts somewhere and this creative revolution proves we are well on our way!

 

Along with these changes, we are also learning to relate to each other in harmony instead of competition.  It is impossible to create in collaboration when old lines of division and judgment are drawn.  Instead, we must fully ebrace the virtues of acceptance, inclusion and equality.  It catches on.  All we have to do to initiate system changes is start with ourselves.  If we can learn how to see and dismantle our own hidden fears, judgment, defense mechanisms that cause us to compete, argue, and litigate instead of forgive and include, we make space for others to do the same.
